"Cultivating Compassion and the Needs of Vulnerable Children"?

I am sure Dalai had a busy day in L.A. But the title of his lecture today is a bit ironic, wouldn't you say?

How could you teach compassion, and at the same time dismiss the killings of innocent children as "childish things"?

I really hate to pop the Dalai bubble. He is a good speaker and I actually agree with many of his spiritual and religious messages. After all, what he preaches to the world - when he is not talking politics - is part of Chinese culture. And Chinese culture, as I said, is like chocolate. There is no surprise that he can draw a crowd wherever he goes.

Of course, he himself would never admit it. At least in the past few years, I have not heard him say "I am a Chinese" or "As a Chinese, I ..." Not even once.

Sad.
